About me

My name is Thomas. I was born and raised in Germany but moved to Belgium in 2012. If you had asked me as a child what my dream job was, it would have been a blacksmith. Little did I know that this dream would become reality.
After following an apprenticeship of 3,5 years to become a mechanic for toolmaking and learning metalworking and fabrication, I already had a basic knowledge of how things work.
In the first lockdown in 2020, stuck at home, I used the time to start making knives. I began with a small charcoal forge but quickly changed to a gas forge.
This might be the moment to mention that knives have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. After sharpening them for over ten years, I learned a lot about the difference good steel makes.
I knew a lot about making knives in theory, but I soon realised that the practice was more challenging. After many mistakes, failures, and much improvement, I started selling knives to friends. With increasing positive feedback, I expanded to selling them to professionals in gastronomy and hobby chefs. At that point, I decided it was time to start a side business.
As a knife lover, I value a good fit and the satisfaction of a well-performing knife. This satisfaction is something I want to share with you. Knives can have very different tasks and, therefore, can vary significantly in shape and geometry. For that reason, I learned how conversation and feedback are very important to get the best possible knife for the job.
More than just selling a product, I want you to have the satisfaction of experiencing a knife that is hair-popping sharp. For this reason, I offer a Warranty, Free Sharpening for Life, and Tips and Tricks.
That's what makes TF BLADES knives that last generations.
